सतह के रकबा के हिसाब से झील सभ के लिस्ट बनावल जाय तब दुनियाँ के अइसन सगरी जल भंडार सभ के सामिल कइल जाला जे चारों ओर से जमीन से घेराइल होखें आ क्षेत्रफल अनुसार बिसाल होखें। अइसन झील सभ के नाँव में झील शब्द होखल कौनों जरूरी ना बा। उदाहरण खातिर दुनिया के सभसे बड़ झील (क्षेत्रफल अनुसार) कैस्पियन सागर बा जेकरे नाँव में सागर जुड़ल बा; अइसन एह कारण हवे कि पहिले के यूरोपीयन (यूनानी) लोग के ई मालूमे ना रहल कि ई चारो ओर से जमीन से घेराइल बा।

नीचे लिस्ट में कुछ सभसे बिसाल रकबा घेरे वाली सतह वाली झील सभ के लिस्ट बनावल गइल बा। आगे सभसे अंत में के कॉलम में टिप्पणी भी दिहल बा जवना से कि अगर एह झील के कवनों अउरी बिसेसता होखे तब ओहू के उल्लेख हो जाय। एह लिस्ट में बंधा बना के तइयार कइल रिजर्वायर आ कौनों मुहाना के जरिये समुंदर से जुड़े वाला लैगून सभ के सामिल नइखे कइल गइल।
