This template is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.

It is used by the template {{Lang}} with language code ja to include articles in श्रेणी:लेख जिनहन में जापानी-भाषा के पाठ बाटे. For example: {{Lang |ja |some text in जापानी}}, which wraps the text with <span lang="ja">. Also available is {{Lang-ja |some text in जापानी}} which displays as जापानी: some text in जापानी.

It is used by {{ja icon}} and {{Link language|ja}} to display the language of an external link. These templates will add articles to श्रेणी:लेख जिनहन में जापानी-भाषा के बाहरी कड़ी बाटे.
