When used with the "This is a redirect" (Redr) template:

- Template {{This is a redirect}} may be used to add from one to seven rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation page below.
When used by itself:
- From the sorting name: ई एक ठो अनुप्रेषण बाटे the target's sort name; for example, it begins with the surname of a person whose article begins with their given name से ।
- Two category sortkeys should be added to this rcat. The template page provides detailed information.
- This template tags redirects with a subcategory of श्रेणी:Redirects from modifications, so template {{R from modification}} should not be used along with this rcat.
