This template is used as a summary of relevant factual data about a historical event, defined as lasting under one year. It is intended for use in history related articles as the primary infobox and is not intended for use as a summary of an article section.

For dates, use {{Start date}} where applicable, but see that template's documentation for caveats if before 1583.
Thumb_Time supports a parameter for video files if a video is used as the infobox image. Entering a value of |Thumb_time = 200 for example will chose the frame at 200 seconds (3 minutes 20 seconds) of video play time as the initial still image displayed, playing the video will start from the beginning regardless of the frame chosen.
