देसी एगो मोटामोटी अरथ में इस्तेमाल होखे वाला शब्द हवे, जवन भारतीय उपमहादीप के लोग, उनकर संस्कृति, आ एहिजा से निकलल प्रवासी समाज, साथहीं ओह लोग से जुड़ल चीजन-समान खातिर बोले जाला।[1] ई शब्द संस्कृत भाषा के ‘देश’ शब्द से आइल बा, जेकर मतलब होला — धरती / क्षेत्र / इलाका / देस।[2]

‘देसी’ मूल रूप से दक्खिन एशिया के तीन गो देस — भारत, पाकिस्तानबांग्लादेश — से जुड़ल लोग आ संस्कृति के बारे में इस्तेमाल होखे ला।[3] कई बेर ए शब्द के दायरा बढ़ाके मालदीव, भूटान, नेपालश्रीलंका के लोग, उनकर संस्कृति, आ एहू देसन से जुड़ल चीजन ले बढ़ा देहल जाला।[4][5][6][7][8]
